EXCO meeting today. Cheryl didn't come because she's down with H1N1 ._. and so Xinyuan and I chaired the meeting. Sigh, I kept talking nonsense. I can already predict that I shall not be as task-oriented a chairperson as Cheryl was. Whether for the better or for the worse, I don't know. Crystal and I were just saying just now that it feels strange that we're already practically the seniors of the school. It feels really weird to be chairperson already and it hasn't quite sunk in. For some reason I still remember being Sec 1 and the CAD rather clearly. It doesn't seem that so long ago. -- RALA today was pretty fun. We had cake :D Tiramisu, and some funky Italian name. The Funky Italian one was damn good. It had alcohol in it, and after finishing our slices Crystal and and I were staggering around somewhat drunkenly in the corridors proclaiming our love for all things admin. "I love the school admin! I love the Director of Academic Studies! I love the Deputy Principal! I love the whole world, boom de yada boom de yada!" And we were rather worried about how we'd (Xinyuan, Crystal and I'd all partaken of the Cake with the Funky Italian Name) were going to chair the AV meeting later on. " -hic- Hey doodsh. -waves finger around drunkenly- WE LOVE YOU GUYSH. -hic- Thanksh for comingsh, and we're your -hic- EXCO for the next yearsh. -hic- PEACE AND LOVESH, DOODSH! -faints-" But we didn't la. We were -quite- sober during AV.

MPP yesterday was funneh. Apparently, according to the Parliament act or whatever it's called, you are not allowed to wear clothes with political affiliations into Parliament. Which was probably why we got held up really long in the queue to clear security. All those RI guys bandying around in clothes with political affiliations in front of us, tsk tsk. Ahem but according to our Total Defence Day reflections, we aren't really fit to comment because we are affiliated to the school from which sprang forth the PAP. So, yeah, that makes us in-laws or something. Whatever. Xinyuan had a squashed banana with her which she'd stuffed into her mouth in the bus, trying not to be caught by the teachers. However, Maggie said not very softly: "WHAT'S SO FUNNY?!" because we were all sniggering, and then after our rather inadequate explanations (well, sorry, it proved to be rather hard to snigger and explain stuff coherently at the same time) she went: "I DON'T SEE WHAT'S SO FUNNY ABOUT XINYUAN EATING A BANANA!" which absolutely blew our cover. Not that the teachers didn't already know. They were sniggering in their seats about Xinyuan eating a banana and also how we thought they didn't know. Yeah anyway Xinyuan forgot to throw away the skin, and although she'd had it in a ziploc bag, it was decomposing before our eyes (ya serious) and before long the smell of rotting bananas permeated the immediate vicinity of Xinyuan. And we had to endure that smell all throughout the time it took us to clear security, that is, very long, due to all the politically inclined people in front of us. Tsk, tsk. Watched some corporate video about Parliament. The fast moving scenes in front reminded me a bit of Singapore Rebel. But the music was nice, if a little overproduced. It sounded like an action film :/ Ooh and then we had a Moot court. Something about whether or not we should ban violent cartoons. Crystal was made to play the role of Prime Minister, and Xinyuan was an opposition MP. What else is new. Quotes: Opposition MP: "We should have more education campaigns, instead of banning cartoons!" Crystal: "Let me ask you a question. WHO ACTUALLY LISTENS TO CAMPAIGNS?" Everyone: "Uh. You're the PM, HELLO?!" Kimbumsoo: "I rise in opposition of the bill. This bill discriminates against the rights of Korean drama makers, and being a Korean myself, I think I ought to protect the rights of Koreans! Most Korean dramas inevitably contain an element of violence. And take me for example." -hits RI guy next to him- RI guy: "OW!" Kimbumsoo: "I had the intention to hurt, and maybe, also to kill. Does it then follow that I, too, ought to be banned?" ACS guy: "YES." Kimbumsoo: "That was a rhetorical question. Don't answer that. Anyway, I think this bill discriminates against Koreans, and I have no idea why I'm raising this in a Singaporean Parliament, but that is my point. Thank you." Crystal: "Cartoons do not depict real life. Take for example, Ben and Jerry." Everyone: "It's Tom. Ice cream doesn't hurt people." Clarisse: "I DON'T WANT TO BE PART OF THE DEBATE!!!!" -throws wallet at Maggie- Mr Lee: "Hey chill this isn't the Taiwan parliament!" Lecturer: "Please leave the moot court for a short tea break now. Oh, there are also delegates from Hong Kong and Taiwan here today. Please do not let them meet each other." Lecturer: "...moneylenders, who are basically people who lend money..." Lecturer: "In India, there are always around 10 people talking at the same time. But no one listens. So they attack the Speaker of Parliament, because if he's not in his seat the Bill cannot be passed." -- Chem quiz today was booooooring. I'm not a chem prodigy, so the combination of relatively hard questions and heat in the Chem lab nearly put me to sleep. When I walked out Xinyuan and Crystal saw me and they said I looked mildly concussed. ._. Disturbing. Denise: "VICCCC. You remind me of someone." Being concussed, I forgot that Denise is never up to any good, and I should have run screaming from the sound of that. Instead I just looked at her and went: "Huh?" Denise: "You look like Wesley :D" But obviously everything looks like Wesley to Denise. Hm I'd probably have looked more Crystal like rather than Wesley like. Crystal seems to be suspended in an eternal state of... vegetation. Grah one more day to get through before assemblies restart!

After Chinese today, which was basically another self-study block (Laoshi was sick), this voice piped into the classroom: "311, it's time for your Math lesson!" It didn't sound like Mr Yang, who wouldn't normally be so hyper anyway; he'd just go "311, wake up." So obviously I looked up to see who it was. And Hanazawa Rui walked into the class. My eyes grew very wide. Until Hanazawa Rui turned around and said in a voice about 3 octaves higher than on TV: "Hi girls, I'm Ms Wong. I'm your relief teacher for today." ...Damn. You know, life is so unfair. Guys that would look really pretty as girls (Lee Jun Ki!!!!) end up as guys, and vice versa. But not to say that Ms Wong wasn't nice la. She was very... hyper. And comical, somehow. Xinyuan was besotted. :D But anyway moare self-study during Math. I'm on worksheet 6 :D :D :D But speaking of which, I really ought to get a life. Keyun: "Uh don't you know 10 is like the normal time for going out?" And there I was, thinking that 10pm was really late and at 10pm you ought to be at home sleeping. -sheepish look- Therefore, I have made a resolution! I shall absolutely get a life. Absolutely. I shall stay out late at night and come back past midnight. I shall live recklessly. Muahahahaha. But my deriavation of the ratio theorem looks needlessly complicated :/

is this happening to anyone else
Monday, July 27, 2009
Uh, does anyone else experience that weird thing with Blogger? Like when the preview box swishes itself into the bottom left hand corner and the title box to the top left hand corner where it bunches up with everything else? Dammit, why can't they just get along? People, (or text fields, rather), talk it out. When you guys break up, innocent children (read: me) suffer. So please, please, just reconcile your damn differences and get back together already. You make me think my post is much longer than it really is. I press "Publish Post" with a sense of accomplishment, thinking I've written a novel thick enough to rival the Goblet of Fire (gosh, that was like the thickest book in the series wasn't it? Or was it the Order of the Phoenix? Must take a ruler to my books.) and when it comes out, it's like three paragraphs long. Small, itsy-bitsy paragraphs, not long honking essay length paragraphs. School has been boooooring since returning back from the June holidays. Somehow I just don't find anymore kick in school. Like in Math. We hardly ever learn anything fast in Math. According to Mr Yang, we are officially the slowest class in the entire level. And every Math lesson (which is to say, everyday except every other Friday or something like that) I stone and do self-study because for some reason I seem to be one worksheet ahead of everyone else. Is it just me, or am I more free than everyone else? Or maybe I ought to get a life. ._. Or a new CCA. OR SOMETHING. ANYTHING. To stop me from doing incessant amounts of Math worksheets when I come home every day. I'm thinking that I ought to watch more Japanese dramas, but they're expensive and watching them on Youtube gives me a headache. I mean, it's not so much watching a movie as watching pixels. I'm sorry, but there is only so much of faces that are made out of, what, 10 pixels? that one person can take. Especially if you know that the face would look much better on a reasonably larger screen with a reasonably better resolution. I WANT TO WATCH HANAZAKARI NO KIMITACHI E. My favourite actor is starring in it. I think Shun Oguri is awesome. I would totally spend more time fangirling over him, except that would totally decrease the quality of my posts (not that Shun Oguri is a bad thing to blog about. It's just that I've had quite a lot of fangirly posts and I want some... uh, variety? LOL. And people *ahem* seem to have unconventional tastes. By that I mean that THEY DON'T THINK SHUN OGURI IS HOT -shock- AND THEY THINK THAT PEOPLE WHO NEED HAIRCUTS/NEED TO PUT UP THEIR HAIR IN A HAIRBAND ARE MUCH HOTTER. AHEM.) Yes but anyway. I WANT TO WATCH HANAZAKARI NO KIMITACHI E. Would anyone like to sponsor it for me? Because I can't seem to find it in video shops. I guess I shall have to wait until my next Malaysia trip (that Harris in Jusco is a veritable haven of old Japanese DVDs.) to stock up. Right now I'm making a list. I love our prospective AV shirt designs. They are so attitude filled. One of them went: "STAGE CREW are people too" and another, which most of us liked, was "STAGE CREW: The fact that you can't sing is not a technical problem." Awesomezxs. And then we came up with another one which was more multi-purpose: "STAGE CREW: Talk to the mike 'coz the AV person ain't listening." I mean, you can totally feel the attitude and angst that oozes out of the shirt. We were considering having a huge AV outing to a choir concert wearing our attitude shirts, with the "the fact that you can't sing" on it. Hee. There's some AEP Exhibition tomorrow at City Hall. Hmm. I have no idea where City Hall is. I know where the MRT station is, but apart from that pretty much nothing. I hope it's not that grungy old building with billions of locked doors that I tried breaking into because I thought it was the Supreme Court and I was late for work. It would hardly do to go there looking all prissy and art-ish and having the security guard shout at you: "EH?! WEREN'T YOU THE ONE WHO TRIED TO BREAK IN?!" I mean, that would just mean red tape, and while red tape seems to be quite the norm in school, I highly doubt they'd appreciate it being given to them. Sigh. Must attempt to stay sane and unprovocated and not hit anyone this week. Felt like doing so a lot of times during Math. Why can't people respect that other people are trying to concentrate really hard on their work? I hate it when people break my concentration. It gets so much harder to get to that point where stuff seems much more solvable after that. 6 days left till assemblies resume. Must attempt to stay non-violent and peaceable until then.

HANAZAWA RUI
Saturday, July 25, 2009
Uh, why is blogger making my words appear... from the right? This is weird. Blogger's been screwing up on me for the past dunno how many days and I'm even using Firefox D:
So annoying Jihoo's hair is about the same length as mine now. Meaning I cut it, but whatthehell having hair the same length as a girl's is nothing to be proud of. I FEEL LIKE CUTTING HIS HAIR.
And he looks to be emotionally handicapped. He looks like this : ._. regardless of whether he's sad or happy. Plus he's not as hot as his equivalent in the J-dorama.
I like Detective Conan too :D Watched it today before piano and it was awesomeshiz. The ending is so saddddd. Why can't Ran tell that the guy she loves is merely in kid form and beside her ALL THE TIME D: D: D: And why won't Shinichi/Conan just TELL HER ALREADY. Don't they have like, any photos together as kids or something?
I like Shinichi/Conan better as Shinichi ^^
Eeeks the Korean drama is so scary when they start getting that maniacal glint in their eyes. Like when Ju Junbiao attempts to hail a cab and he goes all "YAAAAAAAAAAAAH". And like when he got beaten up by Haje. In Hana Yori Dango he just looked tastefully injurned, but now he looked like a member of the living dead. Ewwww.
Tsk tsk and what's up with Zhihou's cheesy pick up lines? O: "Did you dial 911? Cause I'm here to put out the fire~~~" Eeeeeeek. That was so disturbing.
Hmm I think watching Hana Yori Dango isn't really doing much for my anger management plans. I mean, just watching them whenever they get pissed (Domyoji indiscriminately beats the shit out of anyone he meets on the street and last time managed to get the whole F4 involved in a huge 4-men brawl because of Hanazawa Rui) makes me feel like beating someone up too. But sigh it's so awesome.
And watching them flirt with people too is interesting. It's like, Soujiro just has to walk up and smirk and all the women in the establishment instantly start staring at him and drop their guy/wine glass/whatever they happen to be holding at the moment. Hilarious.
Oh dear me that was some indiscriminate fangirling :/ Ah whatever. It's fun. :D

Whee my mum and I are marathoning Hana Yori Dango. Blogger is screwy so I have no idea how my posts are turning out. To me, I seem to be typing in a box about 5cm wide at the bottom left hand corner of the screen. It's annoying, but I have stuff to say :D WE GOT THE FINALE MOVIE, WHOOO! It was awesome and sweet and everything you expect from a romance movie. But I pity Rui like super duper damn alot because someone as nice as him deserves a happy, happy, HAPPY ending. Ooh and the wedding at the end was whee awesome. But it was really disturbing when all the lights went off and this very Rui-ish voice went all "Congratulations!" and the lights came back on and he was STANDING THERE IN FRONT OF THEM DRESSED AS A PRIEST. I tell you I spontaneously had a heart attack there and then. Rui looks so WRONG as a priest. It just falls into the category of disturbing, somehow. For one really scary moment I thought his heart'd been so very broken by the two of them (great couple that they are) that he'd joined the convent. Or the male version of a convent, if there's one. But luckily for all the females in that hypothetical world, he just decided to play a bigger part in their marriage and so he MARRIED THEM. As in, the "I now pronounce you husband and wife" kind of married. The other kind would be just... disturbing. As disturbing as his joining the convent. (Somehow looking that hot in a priest's habit feels sacreligious.) Hmm I want to watch Hana Kimi. As in, the Jap version and not the dumb S.H.E. one. Ooh and Detective Conan! CONAN IS AWESOMEZXS. I have the DVD already whee I can't wait to watch it. Sigh my temper has been getting out of control nowadays in school. I feel like hitting people more ._. But assemblies are restarting in about a week or so, and I hope that'll make my mood go back to normal :/ But I wonder if I'll last the week without hitting someone. Sigh. J-DORAMAS!

annoying people
I was reading stuff on Crystal's blog that pissed me off a whole load. They were, namely, two letters written by a homophobic idiot. Perhaps I should add in a disclaimer: My school has nothing to do with this post. My views on this matter are not influenced by the fact that I come from RGS, and are purely my own. Plus this upcoming attack on his argument should not be mistaken for elitism. I think his argument is wrong purely because it is illogical and not because I look down on him for not coming from an elite school. Heck, I have no idea if he even does. Google search only throws up more insults to him. Anyway said homophobe is vehemently against gays entering the workforce because... in essential, because his religion says that leading an alternative lifestyle is wrong. I agree that to some extent, religion plays a part in determining the opinions of people, but it should hardly be held up as a glowing example of why he is right. (Which he is obviously not.) And since he seems so resistant to people imposing their beliefs on him, I resent that he thinks it okay to imprint his high-horsed and ancient ways on others. (Plus why is he so obsessed with letting the world know that he's heterosexual, married to a heterosexual, and has 4 heterosexual children? What the hell good does it do?) He further goes on to say that he accepts gay people but not their behaviour, but still won't have them in government positions. Ahem, excuse me but is that not a blatant sign of discrimination against gays in general? Will they foist their sexual preferences on you in the workplace? (Unlike some other -cough- people I could mention.) This is followed by a classic slippery slope fallacy: Hiring gays--> Gays will lead the country --> Promotion of gay marriages --> Adopting of orphaned children --> BAD. I'm sorry, but HUH? LOL and this is absolutely classic. "We know that yeast causes dough to rise, so in the recent Sars outbreak its containment depended on not leaving even one virus at large to infect people." The connection in between those two statements just whooshed over my head. And besides, gayness is not a virus. Perhaps you skipped class on the day sex ed was thought, but you can't catch gayness. If a gay person sneezes on you, you won't turn gay. Obviously. So in any case, how do you suggest we "contain" gayness? Slap them in quarantine cells? Or should we burn them all at the stake so as to destroy any "gay viruses" that might be -shock- passed on to everyone else? And his article on movies is also incomprehensible. Hello, but if you actually WATCHED Death Note, you might have realised that it's not one of those silly "YAYYY KILLFEST" movie but it actually raises deep philosophical questions about vigilante justice. But nooo, he apparently watched it and only focused on all the parts where people die. It is also somewhat interesting to note that he classified "World Trade Centre" (a movie made about, well, what its title suggests) as "inconsequential". So instead of watching "inconsequential" things about terrorism and the "inconsequential" threat that it psoes to our society at large, we should watch movies where happy pink unicorns prance around showering love and care on daisies with smiling faces beneath a great beautiful rainbow. GET REAL. And who the hell cares whether or not he enjoyed "I Not Stupid"? And what is up with his opinion that one should add, I quote, "Lessons on corrective measures for the public"? I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but not everything in life comes with a "And they lived happily ever after, and the -insert character- learnt never to do the -insert bad thing- ever again. :)" -cue rainbow- And technically, the public doesn't have a right to good movies. If you don't like the movies, you can always go make your own. STOP WHINING. Gosh I honestly hate it when people write in to the Forum to whine about everything that's wrong with (or that they perceive is wrong with) their life. Oh boo hoo hoo, get me a job, young people can't emphatize with me, I really wonder why I can't get a job even though I wrote a book on surviving unemployment, could it be because I keep sitting on my ass writing to the forum?????? I would write back, but sadly, I neither have the amount of free time he does nor his age. It is singularly annoying when you criticise their argument and they ignore it completely, choosing an underhanded method of poking at your age. "Oh, that's what you think? WELL HAVE MORE RESPECT FOR YOUR ELDERS WHO HAVE MORE EXPERIENCE THAN YOU!!!!" That may be so, but a flawed argument IS a flawed argument, and no amount of experience will change that.

Um, does anyone else really feel like shouting at the TV whenever you watch stuff? Please tell me it's not just me. In any case, I really feel like shouting a lot at the TV nowadays, and it's probably due to the Hana Yori Dango 2 marathon that my mum had yesterday. HANAZAWA RUI IS DAMN AWESOME. PLUS HIS NAME IS SO COOL. I'm sorry, but I really think Japanese names are super duper awesome. And I really like my surname, but I would totally not mind changing it to Hanazawa. I mean how pretty is that? Victoria Hanazawa has this awesome ring to it. Yeah and I totally love how he disses that annoying bitch near the end of the series who keeps referring to herself in third person. WHAT YOU THINK YOU'RE SO CUTE JUST BECAUSE YOU'RE BAIKA? I feel like breaking her legs all over again everytime I see her on screen and I told her that to her face. Or at least to the TV. And while the other members of the F4 are concerned with flirting with her, Rui totally disses her like shit by completely ignoring her and going "I hate her." all petulantly. Super cute. (Ah this is absolutely random but I love the way he drags out the "a" in "Maaaaaaaaaaaaaakino".) Oh lol yeah and there was this totally sweet man-bonding moment when they were giving Tsukasa random stuff to aid him in his quest to find Tsukushi and win her heart. Akira (gosh I love his mum and sisters and house. It's so pink.) gave him a stack of cash! Soujiro gave him a stack of credit cards (all platinum sia) Rui gives him his handphone T_______T To call Tsukushi with! And so obviously I was shouting at them because, what, is he going to WALK to find her? He needs wheels, people! And right on cue Rui goes, "Oh, right, you can take my family's helicopter." Which, incidentally, has "HANAZAWA AIRLINES" written across its side. You know what that means? THERE ARE MORE WHERE THAT CAME FROM. Excessive much ._. Uh okay I have never been a big fan of Zhihou (K-Rui) but I must say he looks somewhat more like a defined gender with specs on. Plus he just sat there grinning at a wind orchestra performance and generally being docile while Junbiao rants at him. My mum just announced that she wants to cut her hair in his hairstyle. Excuse me while I splutter and laugh at the gayness of Zhihou's hairstyle. But apparently, according to the opening theme or whatever that's called, his head is not the only place he has an... excess of hair. Ahem. Cough. Sigh it disturbs me that there are so many pretty Korean GUYS. (Ah speaking of which, the Haje model guy would be cute if he took off all that makeup. It just makes him look, sadly, gay.) My mum and I were watching a rerun of My Girl on TV this afternoon and Lee Jun Ki is so pretty. It is so bloody sad that he's a guy. NOOOOOO JUNBIAO, STOP BEATING UP HAJE! BEING VIOLENT ISN'T THE ANSWER TO EVERYTHING. PLUS HOW CAN YOU STAND TO DESTROY HIS FACE :/

Heehee I have some very funny juniors. During recess we spotted Anabelle moving in our general direction, so we waved her over and made her sit with us. Anabelle: "Eh Crystal tell me who's the Stitch person on your blog leh!" Me: "Oh. That's a paedophile." Anabelle: "I shall flirt with him on your tagboard!" Crystal: "UHHHHHHHHHHHHHH." Anabelle: "Is he your ex-classmate?" Me: "Yeah." Anabelle: "From CAP '08 or '09?" Crystal: "CAP '08." Anabelle thought hard for awhile and this look of horror appeared on her face. Anabelle: "OMFGWTFBBQ IS HE THAT CHINA GUY?" Us: "What China guy?" Anabelle: "THE ONE WHO'S BLOG IS DAMN CREEPY AND ALL ABOUT CHINA." We nodded slowly and watched as all thoughts of flirting with Stitch on Crystal's tagboard vanished into thin air. Absolutely hilarious. -- Dr Sakhar spent a good part of RALA telling us about stuff he read on innocentenglish.com . Hehe there was an article about El Nino, and my favourite sentence was: "In Peru, there are people called -Spanish word-. They fish for a living. If there was an equivalent for that word in our language, it would be "fishermen". But there isn't." After Math, when we walked back into RALA class (we have a Math block sandwiched in between two RALA classes. Hardly optimal seeing how we have to walk down J block, up D block, and then down D block and up J block again) we found Dr Sakhar sitting there with a pleased expression on his face. On the board he'd written, under a heading "RA MATH", 1. Find x -insert triangle with x written on one of the sides- -x is circled with a line pointing to it: "Here it is!"- 2. Expand: (a+b)^n (a + b) ^ n (a + b) ^ n . . . -- An advertisement for Boys Over Flowers appeared on the projector screen during Jap (we were using an online dictionary) and everyone started fangirling over the actors. Jinni said that she liked the pottery one best, and to illustrate, went up and tapped the screen with a huge grin. Sensei wasn't amused, but the rest of us were.

Today was unbelievably hot. Apparently, in the interests of not getting H1N1, we have to open the windows and "ventilate" our classrooms. (Read: NO AIRCON.) And this comes at a really awesome moment: According to the Straits Times on Sunday, El Nino is back and from what I understand (sorry la my Geog fail la) we are going to be experiencing a HEAT WAVE. You know what a heat wave in a small classroom without aircon and insufficient ventilation is? Yeah, that's right, an oven. But that's not enough. Because our classroom is situated right above what I am damn sure is a mosquito breeding ground and everytime we open the windows, the little buggers fly in for a feast. Basically that brings us down to one of three choices: 1. H1N1 2. Dengue fever 3. Heat exhaustion. Throughout the whole of Math at 1pm I couldn't think at all because it was so damn hot. I resorted to fanning myself with the YME album's lyrics and then I had to stop because technically it's not mine; Crystal and I have joint custody of it. And we were already sitting right next to the door already. Xinyuan says that she's going to bring those fever pad thingies which you stick on your forehead when you have a fever and I must say that's not a half bad idea :/ It was actually hot enough to register on my thermometer. 32.6*C. -- Crystal and I were on 156 on the way back and she was mumbling about how we never see any of our RI exclassmates on the bus when in trotted this person who looked suspiciously like Wendy. We were curiously watching the Wendy-person walk from the the front of bus to somewhere in front of us and since neither Crystal nor I am very subtle, the Wendy-person noticed us rather quickly. He looked at us. We looked at him. He muttered my name in a rather disgusted tone under his breath and immediately we realised that Wendy-person was actually good old Wendy :D :D :D But he looked so different (I mean, he's damn tall now! We used to bitch about who was taller and he lorded it over me the very moment he grew 1cm taller than me but now there's obviously no competition. And he has a moustache. Or at least the beginnings of one. It is somewhat disturbing.) He sat down in the seat behind us and the both of us immediately turned around and practically screamed in his face: "OMG WENDY IS THAT YOU?!?!?" Wendy: -typical disgruntled look- "Yah. It's me." Us: "WENDY!!!!!!!!!!!" Wendy: "Ah. Yeah. Wendy lor." Gosh I cannot stand his voice. It's deep and growly and brings to mind Josie. I kind of think I preferred his voice when it was high and piping. His waterbottle is still the same after all these years. The Wendy Bottle which we all used to drink from when we were lazy to go to the water cooler. And then we'd finish up all his water and make him go refill it :/ Hmm. Ah well primary school days were super duper awesome. Wendy was daoing us and pretending to sleep all the way, so we only pretended to wake him up once or twice. And then after he got off (and deigned to say bye to us) I looked in the glass panel of the back door and saw our Rosyth senior's face there and nearly screamed like shit. Me: "OMG Crystal my neighbour/our Rosyth senior is on this bus as well." And being the unsneaky Crystal that she is, she turned around with a huge smile plastered across her face. :/ I think he's quite freaked out by me and my weird friend. He tried to close the door on me while we were walking into the lift but he probably decided that it would be ungentlemanly and let me in.

I was waxing lyrical to my mum about my dream of becoming a Bukit Timah Tai Tai (or a Manhattan housewife, as Joanna put it) and having a house full of the latest electronic gadgets so I can spend my days of leisure fiddling with... uh, the latest electronic gadgets. She gave me a huge smile and said, "Well, in that case, you'd better start practicing." I agreed heartily because I thought she was finally going to give in to my pleas and buy me an EOS 500D, but she unceremoniously shoved a steam iron into my arms and told me to iron my school uniform. ...walau. A steam iron differs from a normal iron in the sense that you have to hold it up vertically and blast steam at your clothes or something. It was pretty heavy and so I thought it was pretty cool because it was sort of like weightlifting. And so, I thought, this was the start of a beautiful (or steamy) relationship with the steam iron. At least, until it blasted me in the face with a really hot cloud of steam and gave me an instant facial. Not in a good way. -- Um apparently for AV EXCO elections we have to do up a profile which includes a photo of us, in case the voters can't make up their mind and decide to vote us based on whoever's the prettiest. So I am currently sourcing for pictures of myself in which I do not look 1. scary 2. deformed or 3. hideous. Which is a tough task, yes. Facebook's currently my best bet because all the photos that Daniel took during NOI are there and everyone knows that people look better in SLR shots. However I have half a mind to slap on one of those more ridiculous shots in which I was tagged on Facebook. My choices are: 1. One with my back facing the camera 2. Gosh watching Boys Over Flowers makes me feel very dumb. But I like. HELLO Ju Junbiao just lighted up this whole place for Jin Sicao (sorry I'm watching the Chinese dub so I'm using their Chinese names) and they just looked at each other and exchanged this absolutely "we are so married" look. Uh lol somehow written out like this diminishes the whole impact of it. AHHHH ANTICLIMAX he just knelt down and I thought he was totally going to propose to her and all but he just kissed her. Oh but whatever IT'S ABOUT TIME HELLO YOU PEOPLE HAVE SO MUCH CHEMISTRY THAT KISS WAS OVERDUE BY ABOUT 4 MILLION EPISODES. (Hee so cute Sicao is so short that even when Junbiao kneels down she's not even much taller than him ahahaha!) WHOOO and awesome the guy that Kim Bum plays just stole Qiutian (Ga Eul) right out from under the nose of the asshole who dumped her. Gosh I cannot stand how they're all so perfect. Anything you can do Junbiao can do BETTER. Plus he has like a billion sports cars in various bright colours. -- I really hate waking up in the middle of the night because I can never tell if I'm dreaming or if I'm awake. Yesterday night or today morning I woke up and there was this horrible pain in my leg. If I were properly awake and conscious I would have screamed but I was half asleep so I went back to sleep. Or maybe it's because I just had PEP this morning and that's why I'm reading too much into everything. I finished reading the novelization of Terminator Salvation! I'm pretty glad I didn't go watch it because it sounds pretty damn scary. I have nothing to blog about ._.

MY BACK ACHES LIKE CRAP

It-that-must-not-be-named is finally over. I would like to say that it was good and fine and dandy and I wasn't intimidated at all, but that would be lying. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY NERVE-WRACKING. Uh I'm apparently still not supposed to disclose the contents of the interview but I'm sure if I just talk about stuff which doesn't involve the contents that should be okay. Yeah whatever. Gosh it was super intimidating. Before the interview started I was still niaoing Cheryl and drooling over Rachel's mac and Cheryl was trying to convince me to buy her a mac as a graduation present. She made me cart tables around o.O Yanhan grinned evilly at me as I passed and muttered something about me being a slave (which is technically true, but.) And then the interview officially started and suddenly she morphed into the female cyborg from Terminator 3. She was absolutely glaring me down and Jiayi was sitting in the chair next to her glaring me down and Rachel was tapping away at her mac and wasn't glaring me down because she's too nice, but I bet if she was just a leeeeetle less nicer she would have been glaring me down also. Plus it didn't help that the aircon took super long to warm up and for the first 5 minutes it was like the Sahara in there. The heat was making me give incoherent answers D: Okay this is a question but it's hardly... I don't think it'd affect the interview in any way because it's bloody generic. Cheryl: -glare- "Are you nervous?" Me: -cowers- "Uh, yeah." Cheryl: -glare- "Why are you nervous?" Me: -cowers and thinks "Because you look like you're going to eat my crunchy ass for breakfast (OMG I JUST REMEMBERED THAT PHRASE FROM PRIMARY SCHOOL AHH)"- But because I didn't have the guts to say that I said rather eloquently, "Well. Uh. I'm nervous because... because IT'S DAMN HOT. I'm sorry but YES. IT IS." Cue deathray. Technical interview was a bloody screw-up. And then Crystal and I were unceremoniously removed from the studio by Cheryl. ): -- Head Prefect Election Speeches today were rather... dumb. The school's bandwidth obviously wasn't enough to accept such huge files and the filming sucked. :D And even though the thing was supposed to be in "real time", it was actually lagging by about 10 seconds or so. We heard the bell over the PA system and only about 10 seconds later did we hear it over the video link. Plus the first 10 minutes before the speeches started for real were spent watching a really gripping video clip of... a microphone. Awesomely inspirational. And the video kept starting and stopping, like some really really bad lag and thus we got a really disjointed picture and sound clip. They'd be talking about some issue, and then there'd be this really long pause and we'd go, "Yes, and as you were saying...?" before the sound and picture would abruptly jump to something else altogether. Xinyuan rather meanly commented that the picture was quite okay because none of them actually MOVED while talking, but it was true. >< I'm sorry, but have none of them ever watched... say, Hitler? or Obama speak? Or even Glendon. There's a lot of hand action and "YES WE CAN"s and whatever. I guess not having assembly in the hall has really taken a toll on all of us. Instead of being able to shout out mean comments accompanied with random hand gestures, we have to whisper them under the cover of darkness while huddled around a table. School admin please please please reinstate hall assemblies D: And morning assembly also. We have a lot of AV stuff to settle. ): -- Quote: "Girls, can you give me some advice on who to vote? All I know is that all 6 of them like to have dinner with their family." I think that question could have been an opportunity to garner more votes for a lot of them, but it somehow became this huge PR stunt. I mean it was a candid question and probably deserved a candid answer. Crystal said she'd have dinner with Wong Ah Yoke whereas I wanted to have dinner with Gu Jun Pyo :D :D :D I mean, hello?! Has anyone seen the size of the fish he brought out to treat his girlfriend to dinner? It was thisssss -stretches hands out to the max- this big. But I cannot stand how sometimes he looks super in control and elite, but sometimes he looks like he has an IQ of about 50. Domyoji from the Jap version also. So annoying. He speaks perfectly accented CHINESE and can play the piano bloody better than I can, but he sometimes looks like he'd get retained in primary school if his parents didn't own the school or something like that.

I hate having fevers. And I have a feeling that my thermometer is hardly reliable, because based on experience I am having a temperature of AT LEAST 37.7C and my thermometer says I am merely 37.2C. Sigh. Anyway didn't go to school today in, uh, community interest. Plus I was feeling very poorly (cue miserable hangdog face). Mr Lee called my house in the morning but didn't niao me for once and instead told me to let him know if I'm still sick tomorrow so he can tell the school I'm a walking virus and maybe wrangle me a leave of absence :D (Okay last part is just wishful thinking. The school and the health minister both are under the impression that the best way to control community spread is to just let everyone spread the virus to each other. Because they are not going to test you for H1N1 unless you are "pregnant or have other ailments." It must be really heartening for all pregnant women to know that the little life they're carrying around in them is considered an "ailment".) I guess when you're sick people are nicer to you :D I tried to do self-study at home in a conscience-stricken attempt to make up for not going to school but it gave me a headache (HONEST.) and so I ended up watching TV and/or reading books. Uh I ended up finishing the sequel to Size 12 Is Not Fat in CHINESE. FANTIZI. WITH THE LINES GOING DOWNWARDS. I am super duper proud of myself okay. Except that it took me 4 whole days, and if it was in English I'd have finished it in 4 hours. Or less. ._. Sigh I have run out of things to watch on cable TV. In my envisioned quarantine (pah) I'd be eating sushi and watching Boys Over Flowers on DVD and not watching... of all things, the AYG air pistol finals. -___- Kickass boring. It was basically 8 fatguys posing for about 90% of the time. Ooh, Totally Spies is on! ...I really ought to get back to school.

Skincare and Makeup class on Friday was a wonderful bimb fest. While slathering on foundation and blusher and eyeshadow and whatnot I absolutely gave in to my inner bimb and thought in shades of pastel pink and rainbows and unicorns. And my list of adjectives dwindled to about... "hot". I know I sound like I really hated it, but it was hot. I mean, hello, how often do you get to unleash your inner bimb with full blessings from the school? And the best thing was we got to do our own makeup. So all my fears of Xinyuan doing my makeup a la HHK were allayed. Doing the makeup in stages was a hoot though. After putting on the foundation, we all looked rather ghostly and pale, and generally malnourished. Xinyuan looked the same. And then we got chucked blusher. After putting on blusher I realised that I looked exactly the same as I had before putting on makeup, albeit a tad more plastic. Eyeshadow was... well, it happened to be the same shade as my skin and so despite putting on like 39285932480329 layers all I could see was a slight shimmer. Don't know how the trainer managed to see it and tell me that it was too much. At least I didn't get green or any of the other icky shades. What is wrong with a nice pink, you tell me? Cue mascara and lip gloss, and all of us walked out of there slightly resembling prostitutes. In any case it was pretty fun. And I got to watch the demolition going on next door before the class started. -- I feel school eating away at my life of leisure. D: I hardly have time to blog anymore, so uh the few dedicated readers of my blog- please don't expect daily posts like they used to be. Life sucks that way. D:
