Bet you thought this was going to be witty. But in the interest of Internet safety and all that jazz,
I shall refrain from divulging highly sensitive information, including
age, telephone number, and weight. I guess a name is ok though; how else
will you know it's me? (But seriously, kids, don't talk to strange old men on the Internet)
I do adore owls though. But you already knew that so I guess that's ok too.
Yesterday was Weijie's birthday, and also the Reach Cambridge briefing. So as soon as we came to school Yiwye and I left our mums to gossip with each other in the HP canteen, and then we rushed off to assemble the stuff in Weijie's locker which I broke into (well ok I know the passcode so it's hardly illegal, but "breaking into" sounds cool)
We opened his locker to find a water bottle which none of us dared to touch thanks to Wendy, who squealed "Skarli the water is rotting!" and then started giggling to himself. So we pushed it gingerly aside to make room for the bear, which Wendy removed from the box and refused to let go. I quote: "I chose the skin! And I made it squishy! See how squishy it is? -makes 'squish squish' sounds- Weijie won't like it! Let me take it home!" Then he promptly ran off hugging the bear, forcing Yiwye to chase him round the lockers haha. Wendy is so funny haha.
Anyway we finally got the bear back from Wendy's evil clutches and put it in Weijie's locker, along with cupcakes and the card we made for him. (Yiwye put ribbons all over Wendy and Weijie's hair in the picture hehe) Then I called him to tell him to help me get something important for Bio O from his locker, and he was mean for a bit and refused, until I begged pitifully and he finally relented. And then for some reason he decided to scam me that he didn't open it, and I was forced to reveal that there were cupcakes inside, and unless he wanted "xiao wei jie" (see the post on Weijie and ants) to attack his locker he'd better go retrieve them fast.

Also since it was the Science for Our Future Festival, many of us had to usher and we got to wear pretty pretty blazers ^^ Most of the guys wore long sleeved shirts and I think they really ought to make that part of the daily uniform cos they look so much better in long sleeves. Just like how the white skirt should replace our green skirt. But I digress. Shijie and I got to usher the VIPs and order the other ushers around HAHA. Deenie was very jealous :D It was amusing though, the VIPs thought we were Head Boy and Head Girl and we were like "NO LOL not that pro." and they looked a little crestfallen.
Ushering was okay haha the luncheon was good (and free). I am sad that I am still shorter than Weijie even in heels D: Sigh I can just about give up ever trying to be taller than any guy la I think.
The talk was ummmmmmm educational, except Deenie and I kept gossiping and the teachers in the row behind kept shushing us :X But heyyy at least we stayed awake; the row in front of us (PhysRA people) was amazing. Either asleep or checking out girls. Tsk tsk tsk. Kyx and Deenie were disgusting la SMSing each other even though they were just like 1 seat away from each other. And then kyx had to keep turning back to stare at Deenie. I felt so lampposty ew ew ew. Weijie also fell asleep and I managed to kope a sleeve of his jacket (IT IS AMAZINGLY SOFT I want one like that) to keep my hands in cos they were cold thanks to the PAC. He looked like some idiot la wrapped in a jacket over his blazer. And because he'd been asleep for 80% of the thing, when Dr Loo asked him how the program was during tea, he could only look guilty and answer "Um, it was cold. Very cold."
Tea was good! They had awesome eclairs and again Yiwye went about koping eclairs from me -_- Because I took eclairs for her as well people were judging me; they thought I was some glutton. Weijie wanted to go for soup but because being a jock, I had to referee for IHC, we postponed it to today (and omg Saybons has awsum soup; I even won a challenge by being able to drink half the cup without dripping any even though he dripped 11 drops of soup all over the table tsk tsk tsk)
Petanque was interesting haha MR won as predicted :D I didn't end up refereeing cos I came so late, but I sat around with the scorekeepers and ran random errands like buying H2O from 7-11. Everyone liked the cupcakes whee. :D
Ahhh I just heard the sweetest thing ever: one of my friends, despite being "musically untalented" (or so he claims), went to learn "Just the Way You Are" and played it for his musically talented girlfriend, and he said it worked out well :D
On one hand I am pleased for him since he's become such a romantic guy :D
Then again this is just rubbing salt into the wound, because I AM STILL FOREVER ALONE and no one will play anything on the piano for me, not even simple songs like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
RAWR time to go work on EoM. I burnt my fingers baking cupcakes today heh someone had better be extremely thankful.
I'm at the hospital. Alone. Sigh if only my parents weren't so busy, or if I had thicker skin to demand that they stay with me. But I am growing up and I need to learn how to face possibly traumatic events by myself.
Although I still don't like the hospital much.
The blood canister delivery system is cool though, if a bit (quite) scary.
Me: "Look! This St. Bernard has a vest with an inverted red cross on it!"
Yu Hui: "Lol inverted RC = Swiss flag."
I googleimagesearched "Swiss flag" just to make sure he wasn't scamming and the page was filled with thousands and thousands of inverted red crosses. FFFUUU-
Me: "Does that mean the RC logo is based on the Swiss flag?"
Yu Hui: "You bimbo hahahaha. Yes it pays homage to the Swiss flag."
Well that explains a LOT. For the longest time ever I had the impression that the Swiss were damn big on aid. Rawr. Perhaps I should have paid more attention in RCV in Sec 1; it might have saved me intense humiliation -_-
Haha, my jie is the most awesome jie on earth because he is obviously a drama addict.
Weijie: "...Fine lah. We're even. And Amanda is as quiet as me lol. We still haven't said a single word to each other haha, even though we're communicating to the same person."
Me: "No lah, I'm not SMSing her anymore. Aww haha this sounds like those love stories in those dramas you so adore, where the guy and the girl are too shy to say anything to each other :D"
Weijie: "Lol. No luh you got it all wrong! It's they start out with a huge misunderstanding, then they start bickering constantly before they are suddenly acutely aware of their feelings towards each other. Then the big twist of the story is another huge misunderstanding that initially rips their relationship asunder, only to be resolved by bringing the two of them closer than ever!"
For some reason I have found myself counselling more and more people lately- this is bad because I am emotionally stunted and can only sit there and pretend to pat their backs, or give them the online equivalent of "there, there, it'll get better..."
It's not an entirely bad thing; I suppose this means that I am now all warm and cuddly and fuzzy inside such that people feel willing to recount their troubles to me. And that they trust I won't be a bitch and tell them to screw off and die.
Not that I'd ever do that to anyone. Especially now that I'm all warm and fuzzy, apparently. It bothers me when people are emo, so I end up staying up late to talk to them via MSN or SMS or whatever. I guess it's the staying up late which first clued me in to the fact that something was Different, since I usually crash after 10pm. (I still do, but I make an effort to keep my eyes open so that I can offer some form of sad relief to emo people talking to me. Even though the quality of comfort goes down a great deal, I believe)
Which is why this blogpost is fragmented- I slept at 12am last night because I was talking to my Jie who was emoing, and then just as he ended Yuhui told me to remind him to check something and popped off to bathe, and I couldn't go off without reminding him, so my bedtime miraculously extended itself waaaay beyond its usual limit. But oh well, good deed for the day done. I am turning into a regular bleeding heart.
Deenie was bored with the Chem lecture today and started reading the SMSes of a boy sitting in front of us in the LT. She turned to me and said: "Eh Vic, the guy in front of you is also messaging some girl called Victoria HAHA."
Then just at that moment my phone buzzed, and I had to reply my CSC clubmate about some lab visit. Deenie had a sudden burst of drama-inspiration and squealed: "EHHH, what if you two are actually messaging each other!"
I laughed and dismissed that preposterous suggestion- until the guy in front shifted and removed his phone from his pocket, just seconds after I'd sent the message o.O Deenie was much amused and suggested that I SMS my clubmate to confirm if he really were sitting in front of me.
So I SMSed to ask if he happened to be in Chem lecture by any chance, and he actually replied in the affirmative xD (Luckily he didn't say anything about the super annoying two girls sitting behind him who were laughing like maniacs)
Hehe that was amazingly stupid yet so hilarious hahahaha. Now Deenie can't suan me about being mushy and SMSing non-existent BFs across the LT because I have committed the most stupid act of SMSing someone sitting RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME.

We introduced Mr Booth to Friday today because he complained that he'd a song stuck in his head. He said he'd heard of it from his daughter. So we decided to show him the new Rebecca Black song "My Moment", as well as counterpart "My Jeans", which is equally brainless.
He was much amused by "My Jeans" and called his daughter to go listen to it. He popped out of class to make a call, and then poked his head back in to ask what the new Rebecca Black song was. And then he said to his daughter "Oh, they say it's 'My Moment', darling." which made us all laugh for some inexplicable reason.
His daughter told him to tell us that we were weird xD
This morning someone was singing the National Anthem really sweetly behind me in the queue. I have never thought of the Anthem as a particularly pretty song, but when he (I say he, because it was sung in a rather low register) sang it, it was really quite beautiful.
I asked Wendy if he knew who was the really sweet singer, but he just pointed at himself and snickered, but I know it wasn't him cos I was standing next to him and the singer was definitely behind me.
Sigh :/
Teehee my mum says the oddest things; that day after I came back home, she gave me this suspicious glare and hissed: "I think we need to throw away your piano."
Obviously I hadn't realized that my practising was causing that much disruption- because I neither practise very often nor for extended periods of time- and I'd thought I'd finally achieved some proficiency at Moonlight ): Plus of course there was the whole problem of how to display my hoard of trophies without a piano.
Turns out my piano's getting old, and she finally started feeling guilty about not changing it. It was supposed to be changed when I passed Grade 5 because this is merely a beginner-standard piano, but oh well. A bit LATE. Plus I don't have some guy who'll catch a grenade for me, throw his hand on a blade for me, and drag a piano super far to my house LOL.
I am obsessed with that song after class party haha.
Today Yu Hui used the two taboo words during Bio O training (although I must agree, somewhat legitimately since the LT was like a freaking oven) and he ended up having to treat us to tea! I wasn't holding out much hope, since he is notoriously stingy with money. But hey amazingly he actually DID do it, at the RI canteen- grass jelly for Celline, ice longan for Deenie, and milk tea WITH PEARLS (even though I only asked for like plain milk tea) for me. I was stunned at the display of generosity haha. Yay Yu Hui is finally becoming gentlemanly!
At least until 5 minutes later when he did something stupid and ungentlemanly again -_-
Chem was pointless we just went through the tutorial even though the answers were there, and Deenie and I were suanning Yuhui via SMS across the classroom for sitting next to Wendy thereby depriving Celline of a seat and breaking up the cutesy couple TSK TSK TSK. Then he and Wendy both went up to do a question and I suanned him thinking I wasn't exactly being very loud, until he turned around and GLARED at me O: Sigh I am turning into Yuhui this sucks!! (An addendum: Wendy was so distraught without the calming presence of Celline next to him that he did a question wrongly GASP)
SSEF briefing was pointless (yes I know this is starting to sound very existentialist, but it's TRUE) the guy just read everything off the Powerpoint slides. Josie was extremely alert and awake throughout the whole thing LOL he was sprawled across the chair with his mouth wide open. I'm surprised he didn't start snoring.
Wendy has epic quotes:
Me: "Josephine's a pro dancer! Didn't you know?"
Wendy: "HUH? Who's a pole dancer! OMG!"
Wendy: "Actually I think the most useful dance to learn when someone attacks you is not hip hop but break dancing. So at least you can spin around on your head LOL"
Then we went to Macs, and Wendy licked an entire box of curry sauce out!!!! Then he drank from Ryan's drink and Ryan gave the rest to him with a judging look. LOL I think we are damn judge-worthy la Josie spent the whole journey home pretending to air-guitar/air-drum the Pokemon theme song.
We got off at Outram Park to transfer to Dhoby Ghaut to go to Plaza Singapura to buy Weijie's birthday present, and Josie led us on a merry jaunt around the whole station which eventually culminated in our returning back to the same platform which we got out off.
Wendy: "WTF JOSIE? WHAT DID YOU JUST DO?"
Josie: "Ehh not my fault lol you're following a retard who's singing the Pokemon theme song hehe. 'I WANNA BE/THE VERY BEST...'"
There was a great deal of debate over what to get Weijie for his birthday. Josie suggested a Flintstones plushie because he thinks Weijie resembles one of them (o.O Although when we were preparing to leave Macs at Science Centre, I witnessed Josie unhinge his jaw and swallow a Macs ice-cream whole- okay well he didn't unhinge his jaw but hey, close enough) and Yiwye suggested a gay balloon hehe. I suggested biscuits because of Bio O training this morning.
Which brings us to another sub-story; darnit the organization of this post is horrifying.
This morning, Weijie was complaining about Yuhui who was talking at his normal tone but 5 seats down the row: "He's so LOUD. See he's sitting next to Yang Terng, and you'd think he wouldn't talk to him cos he doesn't know him very well, but he's just talking ACROSS Yang Terng to Wendy! And to do that he has to raise his voice, which is loud enough already!"
I suppose perhaps Yuhui heard that, because all of a sudden he started reading out this Chinese passage that he'd found in Wendy's file:
"伟杰是我家常来的客人。我不喜欢伟杰,因为他把地上的饼干全部吃完." (Weijie is a frequent visitor to my house. I don't like him cos he eats all the biscuits on the floor.)
I don't remember the actual wording already but I'd read the passage and it was about ants HAHA so it was quite amusing.
After the initial confusion, Weijie turned to me, rolled his eyes, and said: "Suddenly Yu Hui became a lot more irritating."
BUT HAHAHA BISCUITS Wendy said that if we bought him biscuits we'd have to leave them on the floor for Weijie to eat and that might be a little mean tsk tsk.
Today during Bio we all went to LT3 as per tradition, and set around lepaking and mixing around with the other class and having stupid nerdy conversations.
10 minutes into the supposed lecture block, someone realised that this was way too good to be true- surely no teacher could be THAT late- and some salient individual decided to SMS our teachers to find out where they were, or where we were supposed to be.
That's when we discovered that from this term onwards, there would no longer be Bio RA lectures, and instead we were to attend lectures with the main group in LT1. So we all picked up our bags and started the mass migration across to LT1 quickly, considering that we were already 15 minutes late for lecture.
So we flung open the doors to LT1, still talking loudly about some nerdy Bio thing or another, until we realized that half the whole Bio cohort was staring at us. Feeling somewhat self-conscious we quickly migrated to opposite poles of the LT (I never get why 3M/N never sit together, except during Math; this impedes Rosyth Row assembly GREATLY)
Then Min Li, to alleviate the tension, decided to go like all "YAAAY" and clapped. And all of a sudden the WHOLE LT started clapping, and we turned from shamefaced losers to ownage Bio RA people walking in to the sound of applause. LOL. It was probably sarcastic applause like "OMG they finally got here" but whaaaatever give me my fantasies!

Yesterday during Chinese orals, we were sitting around and chatting while waiting for our turn, despite express admonishments from the examiner to be silent. Somehow the topic of Chinese grades came up, and someone asked what grades we got for Chinese. I was considering whether I could get away by claiming a C5 or C6, when my JIE went to spoiler: "THIS GIRL LA, GOT A1."
The whole back row stared at me. One of them gave me a suspicious look and said, "You're bluffing, right?"
Obviously this attack against my character (LOL or chinese skills, and by extension my character as a Chinese) was too much for me to bear and I had to defend my honour. "OIE NO I really got A1 okay!"
Unconvinced, the guy continued his interrogation: "If you really got A1, then why are you retaking Chinese?"
I replied: "Um, well, cos I like Chinese! I think it's cool!"
His reply: "Aw, psh, you're just lying. Chey I really thought you got A1."
Mr Lee: "Postmodernism isn't postmodernism unless it contradicts itself."
Mr Lee: "Eastern philosophy is cool, except postmodernism. Postmodernism is just idiotic."
Mr Lee: "DO NOT NARRATE MY LIFE TO ME, I shall have my own narrative, thank you very much."
Mr Lee: "Yah, cos it's postmodernism, and it's like BLEH BLEH BLEH BLEH BLEH."
Wei Tai: "This is using the method of deconstruction, even though deconstructionists say there isn't one. That's just cos they like blurring it and then saying it's inherently blurred."
Bryan: "1+1=2 is synthetic. You can only have it all or none."
Mr Lee: "Yeah. That's right."
Bryan: "If Mitchell were here he'd be like myeh nyeh nyeh nyeh."
Mr Lee: "Even when I'm reading about sex I'm like "meh, this is boring.""
Bryan: "THAT'S COS YOU'RE READING ABOUT SEX. THAT IS THE GEEKIEST THING EVER."
Mr Lee: "We need to make Philocircle more sexy. Mr Lee will give a talk about sex and sexual perversion. WHOOOOOO."
Bryan: "Mitchell and I have these fantasies about Kierkegaard debating with Nietzsche. So fun, right??"
Mr Lee: "Do you want to make this a proper CCA? But you'll have to make it more sexy first."
Bryan: "OH PLEASE, look at Wei Tai, do you think he can be sexy?"
Mr Lee: "Oh no, look at Crystal, she's so turned on."
Mr Lee: "Nietzsche is a very emo guy."
Yu Hui: "YAY, sexy philo! Strip and don't depart!"
Mr Lee: "(On a computer science paper)At least if you're going to Google pornography, do it on JSTOR. At least you can say you were looking for papers."
Bryan: "OHHH, her flirtations are so adorable- Wei Tai, invite me to the wedding!!"
Mr Lee: (On Nyan Cat) "It's rainbow, it's gay, it has no end... it's existentialism!"
Mr Lee: "Emotionally stunted? Of course. She's going out with Wei Tai."
Crystal: "Guys, you are not allowed to leave without me."
-Everyone gets up at once-
Mr Lee: "XX was a pain. He was the only one who did homework. I mean well I did too, but he was the kind who writes an essay, and then mugs it: 'I think this is worth two ticks.'"
Bryan: "What is porn? Isn't it just naked men and women?"
Today I had to borrow a blazer, having cut it extremely closely to Wednesday. Blazers are cumbersome objects, especially when one is not a boy and hence has to borrow a white skirt as well, so I decided to be smart and leave my other cumbersome objects at home, most notably my jacket. Especially since I figured that I only had 1 lesson (Chinese oral = leave class indecently early) today in the Com Lab, and should be able to survive the not-very-cold temperatures of the Com Lab.
Wrong.
I had forgotten all about Bio O, which was a cheery 2 hour long lecture in the Mini LT. Either that or I'd subconsciously assumed that the Mini LT, being mini in size, would probably be mini in terms of temperature as well.
Wrong.
15 minutes into the lecture, I was starting to shiver. 20 minutes in, I couldn't feel my fingers. I had to appeal to Wei Jie for a jacket, which he kindly lent me, albeit with a warning to shake it out first since it had apparently been rotting in his bag for some time. But when you are cold- if the Mini LT were a biome, it would be the Artic Tundra- you do not really bother with little details like these. Although I kind of developed a bit of rash afterwards LOL.
KI was spent rereading the purple book. I need to bring more books to class.
After that we had 2 free blocks, followed by another 1.5 free blocks for me (for lunch before Chinese orals, yay.) I spent most of the 1.5 hours practising for Orals with my JIE again, and it was super funny listening to him speak because he uses all sorts of politically incorrect words like "我们要多利用老人!" "我们应该多忍耐脑残的人!" never mind that brain dead people don't actually do much.
Ah well Chinese was okayish I guess, we spent most of the time snickering despite repeated admonitions from the teacher in charge to keep quiet, and of course mugging the list of suggested topics for good words. Again the hall was cold, so I had to borrow my JIE's jacket hehe. I feel a little bad for suanning him so much and yet still borrowing his jacket, but oh well that is my way of showing affection to my friends.
Gym was quite nuts I was trying out this treadmill-like machine and even though I was moving at the not-very-fast pace of 4.3km/h, my heart rate went up to 145 o_O something tells me that this is not too normal. Oh well check up in 2 weeks.
Sigh I am feeling empty inside again, and something tells me it is not wise to read postmodernist Lit/existentialist lit during this sort of time, but oh well, I have never been much of a rationalist.
On a sidenote, perhaps inspired by Murakami, I wrote the first short story that I have in a long time. I wish I could be more regular in my writing, but somehow inspiration comes in short bursts, and the whole story springs completed from somewhere- I detest rewriting although I can never figure out why.
Tis 11:32pm, a lifetime beyond my bedtime. Chem productivity has dropped tremendously. But I have finished the Energetics tutorial; therefore I rock. One is a lot more sensitive to the strangest things at this ungodly hour- I saw a scary Wang Ye face on Facebook (he is grinning manically in a scary way, ergo he is scary) and nearly died of fright. I read a comment that said "na another one" and I was so tickled by this verbatim expression of a Singlish word. I am amused by how Facebook replicates notifications- the fact that Mitchell is now friends with Yuhui is immediately preceded by a post that Yuhui is now friends with Mitchell on my newsfeed. Is this a synthetic or analytic a priori truth? I think it is analytic, but I can't be too sure because my mind is going all fuzzy at the edges. I do not think that continuing with the Econs case study would be prudent; in fact the most perspicacious thing to do right now would probably be to go to sleep and hence cease blogging this instant. Oh my I am a genius.
HAHAHA OMG Yu Hui I am very very sorry for trolling you but that was an opportunity that I could never give up :P And this is revenge for the magnets thing RAAAWR.
But haha okay this is the real one- see I even embedded it here so you can see that it's for real okay see how nice I am!
Chook speaks at 1:06 ("What're you doing?"), 1:28 ("Hello"), 2:04 ("That dumb slut" xD) and 3:22 ("Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down-")
OKAY HAHA NO I'm just kidding but that bird has the potential to rickroll a whole lot of people, and haha someone actually made a pretty cute remix :D If I were really mean I would have embedded this instead but oh well~ Watch this anyway it's adorable!!
Today was good because I won a bet that I made with Wei Jie- he'd bet $10 that I wouldn't be able to make a "decent" chocolate mousse cake within 4 tries, and I bet that I obviously would. To be honest I did it within a single try but I didn't feel right giving him the first such cake I'd ever baked, and instead I redid it and gave him a second trial. Either way I would have won la haha but oh well. $10 hardly covers the ingredient cost but hmph it is a matter of pride, and I suppose giving people cakes and not being petty about stuff is good karma :)
Then we had Bio Interhouse Quiz, and since there were a decent number of Bio RA people in MR, we totally owned everyone else oh yeah~ But Bio RA didn't lose face; a lot of us went up to answer questions haha I ended up recognising half the people who answered since they were either in 3M or 3N. I managed to answer a question too HAHAHA it was something like "Identify this bird by listening to its call!" and I thought all those Bio Soc people would just own by answering something like "Birdus enormus" or some cheem scientific name or another, but when they played that sound it SOUNDED LIKE A CHAINSAW! And I bounced up and down excitedly in my seat because it was my favourite bird ever! After Tianchen showed us the video of the lyre bird in Bio O training, I watched it about 5 times... A DAY. I was totally addicted to it and just about memorized the video HAHA it was the same track that he showed us too!
For a scary minute I thought Yuhui was going to steal my answer because the teacher had walked to him first (even though he already answered Colossal Squid for some question about huge eyeballs) but he answered wrongly and I got to answer my favourite bird yay :D All that video watching came to some good after all hehe.
There was another question about the lyre bird; again it was another sound clip and the task was to identify whether it was the call of a lyre bird or a kookaburra. Obviously it was a trick question; the answer was "a lyre bird imitating a kookaburra" but I am super proud to say that I didn't get tricked because I recognized the pattern of the call and it sounded exactly I remembered the video to sound like :D Ahhh love the lyre bird so so so much :D (On a side note, there was a lyre bird in the Adelaide zoo that learnt to imitate human voices after listening to construction workers in the zoo talk- I found it while trawling videos in my lyre bird craze. It was actually recorded as laughing and saying "you dumb slut" HAHA)
Chinese results were nawbad haha I hope my zuowen will be equally good. :) Surprisingly enough I managed to get full marks for the question where they asked about some small story from the Song dynasty, and asked us for its relevance to the passage. Crystal told me about it, and actually explained the story to me (because it was in wenyanwen and her laoshi had explained it to them) but I didn't pay attention so when I saw it I was like FUUUUU- But hehe I have SKILLZ ok I interpreted the wenyanwen on the spot and got it correct YAY. CLL was again very inspiring, yet sobering because I can't recognise symbols for what they are without the common understanding of a cultural background but blah the path to literary knowledge never did run smooth!
I went to hang out with the Eureka people for a bit to give Yiwye moral support for her emcee speech but Josie was being annoying again. I swear, that guy is the reincarnation of that matchmaker in Mulan with just about every annoying auntie in the world rolled in. Every now and then he'd sidle up to me and enquire annoyingly about my love life (or lack thereof), like "sooooooo, how are you and -insert random name which changes every 5 seconds- doing? You like him right? Right? Right? He likes you. Totally likes you. What do you think of him? Huh? What if he says he likes you? Huh? Huh? Come on admit it la. You like him right?"
I heartily sympathize with any poor foreveralone person who has been hounded by relatives, but after interacting with Josie for that 15 minutes or so made me lose most sympathy I ever had, because Josie is The Most Annoying Auntie on earth. Yiwye got hounded too, and Jiajin suggested slapping Josie like they do in all those Hong Kong dramas, by acting innocent and going all "Heyyy Josie, I got something to tell you, come here..." and then slapping him resoundingly across the cheek. But neither Yiwye nor I could bring myself to slap him and I guess he knew, because he hardly even flinched and instead continued the interrogation. Psh so annoying rawr.
For Civics today, we had an exciting workshop on balloon sculpting. I suppose it could have been worse, for some other classes got other exciting things like "Personal Grooming and Fashion Sense" or something like that- I'm sure the guys must have greatly enjoyed it.
Min Li was very excited because her sister had been to some balloon sculpting course at the CC and even signed up for the advanced course, hence she'd learnt how to make a goldfish out of balloons and promptly started sculpting one.
The rest of us just were nooby and started blowing up balloons (Deenie and I tried not to panic too much when they burst) and were just noisy in general. That led the trainer to ask how old we were, which many of us interpreted as a rhetorical statement about the mental age of our class- which is actually surprisingly low lol.
After making dogs and flowers and getting bored of them, someone started randomly twisting the balloon to form a random thing that seemed to be made up of a number of tubes. Being a mugger Bio RA class, the first thing someone did was shout "ATP SYNTHASE!!!", referring to the random sculpture's resemblance to a stalked particle found on the mitochondrial matrix.
So when the guy asked us what we wanted to learn to make next week, our class chorused "ATP SYNTHASE~~" cheerfully, and decided that we should learn how to make all the parts of a cell. I think the guy might have just judged us. Just sayin'. xD
The time before Philo Circle started yesterday was 15 minutes of unadulterated horror. I was busy trying to puzzle through my Chemistry tutorial when Yu Hui and Crystal decided that it would be a good time to discuss Red Cross stuff- across me, who was unfortunately seated between them. So they traded footdrill commands back and forth, often reciting the whole Malay phrases in growly voices and at some point even moving into the linguistics of it all, while I tried to answer questions on Chemical Energetics.
If Hell existed as a personalized place for everyone, I think I probably went through mine during those 15 minutes. O.O
It turned out that they were doing it on purpose to annoy me, those trolls.
Speaking of trolls, we were discussing the reason why parents lie to their kids about Father Christmas' existence despite being cruelly deceived by their own progenitors whom they loved and trusted. Mr Booth gave us a Jungian perspective, but I still think attributing it to an innate desire to troll is best- Deep inside, all parents are trolls who secretly enjoy watching kids muddle around and make fools of themselves in their belief of Father Christmas.
We had Bio O field trip to Sentosa this morning. Climbing up/down the rocks to the beach was horribly nerve wracking. My heart rate literally increased to twice its normal- well normal for me at least- rate by just looking at it. I don't want to ever climb a slope EVER AGAIN.
There was lots of sand. Some algae, some snails. Sorry I'm not a very eco-bio person, so I cannot give specific details like "dubious nerite snail, family gastropoda" OR SOMETHING I DON'T CARE LA LA LA.
Sigh I am annoyed for Kester took advantage of my lending my phone to him (to play some toilet paper game) to hack my Facebook and post immature stuff on my wall, which annoys me greatly because I have teachers and other respected people on FB and this hardly puts me in a good light -_- And people don't even realise that I got f-raped (apparently they think "IWANKPHONE" is something that I would actually write -_-) and commented, taking it seriously. Sigh I am mildly disappointed.
But whatever, I don't care, I am going to be horribly selfish this week and I'm not going to care about the troubles of other people because seriously there is a limit to how much shit I can take before I fling it all back in your face. Rawr.

Glendon: "-while playing my on my iPhone- Huh? Go play Hide and Seek? But there's a huge wave of zombies approaching!!!"

AHHH AND this is the most serendipitous thing ever- Weijie was whining about wanting coffee, so just to shut him up I brought him to Starbucks, and Yiwye came along too. While we were walking towards Starbucks she suddenly stopped and went: "EH? Is that Limey?" and I thought she was scamming again cos she sees people who look like Mr Lim EVERYWHERE, but when I turned to look it REALLY WAS OMG HAHA MR LIM WAS SITTING AT STARBUCKS LOL.
Ok I have no idea why it was so amusing but we kept grabbing at each other and laughing before finally walking up to him and waving hi :D And then we went inside and bought drinks cos Weijie was still whining. But after that Yiwye and I went over to say hi for real, which was when we discovered that he probably doesn't remember our names already, HAHA.
Me: "HI MR LIM do you remember who we are?"
Mr Lim: "Uh yeah... of course I do..."
Yiwye: "Okay what are our names!"
Mr Lim: "-.- Don't be silly!"
But ahhh I am horribly envious he is teaching the juniors Chinese philosophy, which I have honestly wanted to study since forever- and I bugged him to teach us that for PEP all throughout last year but he refused and now he's teaching the juniors AND I CAN'T CRASH cos it falls on Friday mornings, unless I pon Bio/Math/PE. The last one is totally ponnable but the first 2 would be a little harder, and then he would probably call the school and turn me in to the authorities ):
Chinese philo, Chinese philo, Chinese philo ):
I kind of miss Philosophy- not the watered down version that we are doing in KI- and I miss Existentialism. I realised we barely just scraped the surface ahhh and there is still so much to go- The woods are lovely, dark, and deep/But I have promises to keep,/And miles to go before I sleep, and miles to go before I sleep. I don't know if I got the line breaks correct though.
For the last 4 hours of this archery comp I have done nothing but eat (lunch and a yogood bar), drink, and play handphone games. On the bright side I have passed two Angry Birds levels yay.
This is because we are gloriously behind schedule- 3 hours, if I am not wrong- due to the organizers' liberal application of the Ideal Archer Law, which states that one round of arrows requires 45 minutes to shoot under outdoor conditions of temperature and normal conditions of pressure.
Sadly real archers only approach the behavior of Ideal Archers under conditions of never, and the time taken to retrieve arrows is never ever as negligible as they like to think it is.
And the seniors only get to shoot after the juniors, so...
At least they are playing Party Rock Anthem and the techno bits are oddly soothing.
Achievement unlocked: I stayed up till 1230 chionging work this morning!!! (Okay no I wasn't chionging work but I was waiting for someone chionging work to send it to me so that I could send it out- not that we did, but whatever)
And at 1230 I was horribly sleep-deprived and super emotional because I was so tired, and all I could think of was giving a huge thank you hug to every one who helped me survive the night. Yes that's how incoherent I was.
So although they will probably never read this, it still soothes my heart and guilt to know that it exists here, somehow-
HONGYI AND GLENN for chionging xSite until literally the very very verryyyy last minute, even though Glenn had Chinese the next day. Haha I did too but being the leader of a team means saikang, so yup. And Hongyi especially very very very much since he isn't even in our group, and thus had the right to tell us to GTFO and suck it up, since he already agreed to help but not last minute work (and starting work at 11 definitely counts as last minute!!!) BUT HE IS SO GOOD-HEARTED AHMIGAWD
JOSEPH AND WENDY for putting up with Bitch Vic, who is a really unpleasant person to be around- I apologized profusely and they were super understanding about it because they know I'm a late night noob but ahhhh any one who doesn't flare up and take a knife to Bitch Vic deserves loads of commendation, because even I can't stand Bitch Vic. And Wendy also for yelling at me to go sleep haha even though he and I were essentially in the same boat- chionging CCA stuff.
JIAJIN for showing up like some white knight with the magic words: "I'm here to help you with xSite!" and for staying up and helping Hongyi who was helping us OUT OF HIS GOOD WILL AHHHHH, and for being amusing with the wrong technical documentation and everything, and for offering to help hand in the stuff at Science Centre the next day.
And Yu Hui deserves a special mention too even though he wasn't involved in xSite and actually gloriously misunderstood my staying up late as insomnia over Chinese, but he was really nice and gave all sorts of encouraging remarks about Chinese so even though I was panicking over xSite, I wasn't worried about Chinese at all.
Incidentally, Chinese today was okayish haha I wrote a baozhangbaodao for the first time in forever and oh boy did it feel good. I sputtered a lot at the start but when I was in full moral Chinese mode, it felt so natural and I nearly felt like a Sec 4 again. :D
